The goal of interscholastic athletics is to give young people the opportunity to expand their educational horizons by experiencing fair and friendly competition with their peers. Phase 3 of Governor Baker’s Sector Specific Protocols for Office Spaces requires a limit of 50% employees in the office at any one time. Therefore team MIAA/MSAA will remain open, we will continue to serve our membership(s) remotely while 50% of employees will be in the office. Virtual meetings, webinars, and virtual PD will continue to be created, planned and delivered. Members may contact the appropriate staff member with your questions. The budgets passed by the Massachusetts Legislature do not contain any appropriation of tax dollars to the MIAA. The MIAA is a private, not-for-profit organization and is audited by an independent firm every year. Membership status in the MIAA is on a volunteer basis. The MIAA has no full-time staff members assigned to compliance or investigations. The responsibility of following MIAA bylaws and regulations resides with each member school. Violations are to be reported in writing to the MIAA. Student-athletes tend to have better attendance records, lower dropout rates, higher grade-point averages and improved self-confidence.
